New menu, new room, new Bouley.

This note is written for NYC residents and recent visitors.

David Bouley, The chef I admire most, had just introduced the latest 2011 menu. To welcome those new courses, he also renovated his bomb-shelter-like basement to a fancy doom of acho.

It does change the city.
There's nothing exciting in Bouley's new menu, unless you consider raised prices exciting. This makes Jean Georges, which also recreated several amazing new plates months before, finally become uncle DRE's top 1 recommended prix fixe lunch menu by far in Manhattan. In my personal opinion, it was Bouley.

Is Bouley kicked out of Major League? Not yet. Fortunately, you can still order those better "DATED" dishes here by paying "NEW ARRIVALS" prices - while recession still looms.

The only impressive improvement of new Bouley is its 600% faster serving speed. You don't need to worry about the hypoglycemia resulting from hell long-time hungry any more. Hallelujah.

  14. So did you ever visit any Tom Colicchio's joints? I'd like to see how his dishes get trashed sometimes : ) -- I assume you have watched some episodes of top chef....

  15. 前幾個禮拜去吃Bouley晚餐的tasting menu, 很喜歡餒...服務態度很好食物又好吃, 價格(跟同等級的相比)也很合理.

    不過我沒有去吃過中餐, 可能以午餐的價錢來說CP值不夠吧...
